.check.

This semester is almost over and I am still in a somewhat state of disbelief that I will have finished five semesters. Don’t get me wrong–I am very thankful for the upcoming break from school work, but I am learning right now how to live in the moment and not get caught up in the future. Graduation is right around the corner for many of my friends and although I am so happy and proud for them, I will also be sad to see them leave. The only downfall of friends graduating means that my graduation is coming very soon. I have to daily remind myself to not live each day with the checklist mentality. I often get caught up in the “This is done, that is done, still need to do this, finished that, now I can go to bed” frame of mind. God has reminded me lately that life is a precious gift and even though it’s not wrong to participate in living life with others, we cannot allow busyness to consume our lives. So before I can check another semester off on my transcript, I need to make sure that I check my mindset each day. May God continuously remind me to rest in him physically, mentally, and spiritually for he is the only one who can provide true rest.
